Tasmania Zoo, established in 2003, is a family-owned wildlife park nestled in the foothills of the Tamar Valley, approximately 18 kilometres from Launceston’s central business district. Spanning 900 acres of private natural bushland, the zoo is home to the state’s largest collection of native and exotic animals, featuring over 100 species and more than 1,500 individual animals.

  • Diverse Species: Visitors can encounter a wide array of animals, including Tasmanian devils, Sumatran tigers, African lions, servals, caracals, quolls, emus, koalas, eastern grey kangaroos, reptiles, and monkeys. The zoo also boasts the second-largest collection of primates in any private Australian zoo.​
  • Conservation Efforts: Tasmania Zoo actively participates in conservation programs, notably the “Devil’s Heaven” breeding initiative aimed at protecting the endangered Tasmanian devil.
