Smibert Studio: Tony Smibert is an Australian artist renowned for his distinctive acrylic wash and watercolour landscapes and abstracts. His work harmoniously blends European and Asian painting techniques, resulting in pieces of singular brilliance.
Born in 1949, Smibert studied at the National Gallery School, where his training encompassed life drawing, anatomy, and traditional techniques. This foundation, combined with his study of Eastern painting traditions and martial arts, notably Aikido, has deeply influenced his artistic approach.
Throughout his career, Smibert has exhibited internationally and contributed significantly to art education.
